Flight operations at Delhi airport resumes, diverted flights to return shortly

Flight operations at Delhi airport have resumed after all three runways were temporarily shut. It was because a pilot reportedly had spotted a drone in the area.

Two Air India flights had to be diverted to Lucknow and Ahmedabad, while one flight each of GoAir and IndiGo that were diverted to Jaipur, returning to Delhi.

An Indigo pilot had spotted a drone like object in February this year. A similar scare was felt at Delhi Airport last year in November, when the Air Traffic Controllers had noticed an ‘unknown object’ flying over the runway. It was a suspected drone which CISF personnel, responsible for airport security, failed to notice initially.
