India on Saturday thrashed their arch-rivals Pakistan by 7 wickets making it 8-0 in World Cup head-to-head contest.
Batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 191 in 42.5 overs. This was after Pakistanis suffered a spectacular batting collapse. From 155-3, they were bowled for 191.
India’s run chase was electric as skipper Rohit Sharma began to hit Pakistani bowlers all around the stadium. Sharma made 86 from 63 balls, while Shreyas Iyer made 53 from 62 balls.
India and Pakistan have met eight times in the cricket World Cup with the former winning on all occasions.
Jasprit Bumrah was declared Player of The Match for his impressive bowling spell. He picked up two wickets by conceding just 19 runs in 7 overs.
Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja also shared two wickets each.
Babar Azam, the Pakistani captain, was the top scorer with a knock of 50 runs.
