India’s tennis superstar Sania Mirza is currently in news because of her pregnancy with fans and friends congratulating her after she broke the news on social media.

Sania had taken to social media on 23 April to post a photo of what looked like a collage of three dressing rooms. While on the right, her cricketer husband Shoaib Malik’s jersey was shown hanging along with the water bottle and neatly folded towels, ‘Mirza-Malik’s’ bodysuit was shown hanging in the centre. The water bottle on top was replaced by baby’s feeding bottle. And to the left, it was Sania’s own jersey with everything else being same as that of her cricketer husband.

Among those who congratulated Sania included her friend and choreographer Farah Khan, cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, former Pakistani cricket team captain Waqar Younis and many other Bollywood stars. It was Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder, who asked Sania to consider naming her child Mirza Ghalib. He wrote, “Wow! Congratulations, @MirzaSania! If it’s a boy, please call him Ghalib. Always wanted to meet Mirza Ghalib ❤ #BabyMirzaMalik”

Sania too quickly responded saying that she will consider his suggestion since she too ‘always wanted to meet’ the legendary Urdu poet. She wrote, “Haha thanks Shirish.. will definitely that into consideration .. I’ve always wanted to meet him too.”

Sania is a six-time Grand Slam champion. Her father had recently told news agency PTI that the baby was due in October.
