Actor Parineeti Chopra has been a prolific user of social media platforms including Instagram, where she keeps her fans updated about her goings on. The actor’s last photo on Instagram was a photo in popular sports brand Speedo’s two-piece swimwear.

While posting the photo, Parineeti announced that she had become the brand ambassador of Speedo. She wrote, “And here it is !! It is my honour to announce that I am the official brand ambassador for the world’s leading swimwear brand, SPEEDO.”

Although her fans loved her look in the new outfit, many are still trolling her for her recent announcement that she had teamed up with Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami to make the country a better place to live in. Parineeti had recently posted a video of her with Goswami, thanking the Republic TV founder for ‘making me the brand ambassador of “BEHTAR INDIA”. Together we will do our best to make a real difference.’

Speaking at the event, the actor had said, “Today when I am in a position to connect with so many people worldwide, I feel I have to use it to my advantage and speak to people about things that genuinely matter. Things like cleanliness, environment, women empowerment and equality, education that mattered to me were given to me so easily. Therefore, I feel I have to inculcate those thoughts and that ease in today’s children and hopefully adults if I can influence them.”

But her fans weren’t impressed with many condemning her for her decision to collaborate with Goswami. One Mohith Kumar wrote, “I thought of abusing you for this picture. But seeing the comments, I hope you have understood what you are supporting, whom you are supporting. With utmost respect, I request you to DELETE THIS POST.” Another user @boogymenn wrote, “Most corrupt journalist of India.”  @faizu7198 warned Parineeti that she was ‘going to lose all your hard earned fans.’ User RJ Samrat wrote, “Most corrupt journalist of India, such a shame Pari.” And user Hari Shri concluded, “Thanks I’m unfollowing you now.”

And the criticism was endless.

Goswami has been a polarising figure on Indian TV channels. He came for a lot of criticism as the Times Now’s editor-in-chief for his alleged biases for the BJP and the RSS. He quit Times Now in 2016 to launch Republic TV in partnership with the BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP, Rajeev Chandrasekhar last year. Since then, he’s been accused of hounding political parties, who are opposed to the ruling BJP.
