This season’s Sony TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati has seen its host Amitabh Bachchan make several revelations. Whether his comments on Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor or praise for actress Tanushree Dutta, the Bollywood megastar has been dominating news headlines on a regular basis. On Monday night, Bachchan made another revelation on how he had saved his wife Jaya Bachchan’s number in his mobile phone book. Among other things, Big B also showered praises on Shahid Kapoor for his acting in Udta Punjab.
This was after a contestant from Dehradoon in Uttarakhand told Bachchan that he had saved his wife’s number as aji sunti ho. The contestant’s comments left the KBC host quite amused as prompting him to promise that he will do the same for his wife Jaya Bachchan.
“I’ve saved my wife’s name in my phonebook as the first two initials of her name JB. I will change it from tonight itself,” he said to a round of applause from the audience.
Bachchan also revealed that his family was the die-hard fan of Chelsea football team. This was after the contestant correctly answer a question on the winners of this year’s prestigious UEFA Champions League competition.
“We are also football lovers. In my family, my son is a big football fan and we support the Chelsea team in the English Premier League,” Bachchan said.
Bachchan is indeed a big fan of football. Last year, he had travelled to Russia with his family. His son Abhishek had also taken to Instagram to share a photo from inside the stadium in Saint Petersburg.
When Chelsea were crowned the Champions of England in 2017, a proud Abhishek had shared a selfie by wearing his favourite club’s jersey.
Bachchan also played a clip of Sourav Ganguly and asked a contestant to identify the voice. The veteran actor later said that Ganguly, who was recently elected as the BCCI President, was the man responsible for the current high morale in the Indian team.
Bachchan was recently unwell and had to spend a few days in a Mumbai hospital. He’s, however, on the mend now and has returned home after spending three days in Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital.
