Mira Rajput has opened up on the recent trolling by haters, who targeted her for her first ever commercial shoot with some even accusing her of copying her husband Shahid Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Mira, who’s pregnant with her second child, had faced merciless trolling after she posted her first ever commercial video while endorsing the skincare products of Olay. While many slammed her for endorsing a beauty product, others accused her of copying Kareena Kapoor Khan. Shahid was rumoured to be in a relationship with Kareena before they split. Kareena married Saif Ali Khan, while Shahid went on to marry Mira in 2015. The couple recently celebrated their third anniversary.
Mira told Times Now that the trolling did not bother her because she knew that not everyone was going to love her on the internet. “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It’s not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.”
Mira added that criticism on social media wasn’t a new phenomenon even though it was sad. She said, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.” Mira had faced considerable heat from feminist groups after she said that she was against working and leaving her child to the mercy of nanny because her child was not a puppy.
Amidst incessant trolling for commercial video, Shahid had taken to Instagram to support his wife by writing, “who’s the stunner?” Mira too said that she couldn’t have found a better partner than Shahid.
She said, “Shahid is an extremely loving and supportive husband. It comes naturally to him. The smallest things he does make me smile and feel so loved, like when I wake him up in the middle of the night with a foot cramp and he soothes it. Or how hands-on he is with Misha and has really made sure she doesn’t feel the lack of my attention and presence, especially in these last few weeks where I can’t pick her up or play very much with her. It’s everything put together. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to walk beside me through this journey.”
