Death toll in Hamas attack reaches 232, close to 2,000 injured; videos of Hamas fighters parading Israeli soldiers go viral

The death toll in the Hamas attack against Israeli soldiers and military targets has reached 232 with more than 1.750 believed to be injured. More than 200 Palestinians were killed in retaliatory attacks by the Israeli Defence Forces.

Meanwhile, Hamas has said that they fired 150 rockets in response to the Israeli air strike on the Palestine Tower, an 11-story building in the centre of Gaza City.

The BBC reported that Israel has now cut off electricity supply to Gaza. Israel’s energy and infrastructure minister Israel Katz was quoted as saying, “I have signed an order instructing Israel’s electric company to stop the electricity supply to Gaza.”

Hamas has reportedly captured dozens of Israeli military officials. The Palestinian armed group said that a senior-ranking army general was also among those captured. However, the IDF has denied this claim.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel was ‘at war’.

Meanwhile, several videos of Hamas fighters parading Israeli military officials after capturing them have gone viral on social media.







The United Nations Security Council has said that it will hold a closed-door meeting on Sunday on ‘Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.’
