South Africa were mesmerising with their efforts in all departments of the game. Batting first, they piled up a mammoth total of 311-7 in 50 overs. Quinton de Kock was the top scorer with his knock of 109 from 106 balls. Aiden Markram made 56 from 44 balls.

Australia never looked comfortable in their run chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Thanks to the lethal bowling of Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, Aussies were reduced to 70-6 after 17.2 overs. Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc added some sanity to the Aussie innings and added 69 runs for the seventh wicket.
