This was after Afghanistan lost their second wicket to Adil Rashid’s bowling. Root had stepped out of the boundary line, where he could be seen in conversation with Ben Stokes, who’s not playing in today’s match.

Stokes offered him a banana, which Root readily accepted. Root took a bite of the banana and just when everything appeared to be going smoothly, Root puked the banana on a LIVE TV.

Although, the camera angle angle was quickly changed to the proceedings of the match, the commentator couldn’t stop commenting on the development. “Not happy with the banana,” said the commentator.

England had chosen to field first after winning the toss. England skipper Jos Buttler said that he was confident of a successful run chase at Delhi’s cricket ground.

When asked, even Afghan skipper, Hashmatullah Shahidi, said that he would have chosen to field first had he won the toss.

England, the defending champions, have played three matches so far and won two of them. They had suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of New Zealand in their opening encounter.

Afghanistan started on an aggressive note on Sunday by amassing more than a hundred runs without losing a wicket with seven runs an over. However, Rashid struck twice to halt the stroke play by Afghan batters.

Afghanistan then lost their third wicket, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, to an unnecessary runout. Gurbaz was batting superbly, scoring 80 from 57 balls. Gurbaz wasn’t pleased with his skipper’s call for a quick run.

Moments later, the Afghans lost their fourth wicket in Azmatullah Omarzai, to Liam Livingstone.

In a key match on Saturday, India had thrashed Pakistan comprehensively.
