Two killed in University of California firing, one gunman dead

Police in US say that at least two people have died included a gunman after a shooting at the University of California at Los Angeles.

According to BBC News, investigators do not believe there are any ‘outstanding suspects’ and a lockdown has been lifted.

The two dead, according to various media reports, were found inside a small office inside an engineering building. Neither has been identified.

Speaking to reporters, Los Angeles Police chief, Charlie Beck said that cops had recovered a gun from the scene.

“A homicide and a suicide occurred,” he said adding that the investigations into the firing inside the engineering department had been launched.

About 43,000 students are enrolled at UCLA.
