Two officers of the Indian Air Force were killed in an ‘accident’ in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Those killed have been identified as Squadron Leader Rakesh Pandey and Corporal Ajay Kumar.
The accident, according to the Indian Air Force, took place in Awantipora in south Kashmir. Incidentally, the Indian Air Force has an operational base in Awantipora. The IAF has said that it has launched an inquiry into the deaths of two of its personnel.
A report by news agency ANI said that two other personnel including an officer and an airman were also injured and receiving treatment at hospital.
