Delhi High court on Monday dismissed wrestler Sushil Kumar’s plea seeking trial with Narsingh Yadav for a berth in Rio Olympics, scheduled to be held in Brazil in August this year.

The HC said that it will not interfere in the jurisdiction of the wrestling federation unless arbitrary or unreasonable behaviour was shown.

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) conducted a transparent process of selection, the court said adding that the arguments that the trial was held months ago and hence not tenable, are unsound and not accepted.

The court said that though Sushil Kumar was a player with great record, the decision of Wrestling Federation could not be held perverse.
