Congress President Rahul Gandhi was placed in an awkward situation on Thursday as he readied to deliver a speech in Gujarat. Gandhi was in Valsad, around 350 kms from the state capital Gandhinagar, to speak at a rally organised by the Congress when he was mobbed by a group of woman party workers.

They rushed towards Gandhi to honour him with garlands and flowers when one woman of the group left Gandhi stunned by planting a kiss on his cheek. The Congress President was seen blushing by the woman party worker’s audacious act on Valentine’s Day.

The video of Gandhi being mobbed and kissed has now gone viral on social media platforms. News agency ANI also shared the video on Twitter.

The video has evoked reactions from social media users with many finding the act incredibly cute. User Jyotsna Kamble wrote, “wow so sweet.” User Parineeta Chaudhari too wrote, “Cute.” User Mahesh asked sarcastically, “That tooo on valentines day…..
Where was that bajrangi dal?”

This is Gandhi’s first visit to the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since he nearly led his party to a historic win in the assembly polls in 2017. The Congress under his leadership had won 19 more seats than 2012 while the BJP’s tally was reduced to two digits, 99 seats to be precise in the 182-seat Gujarat assembly.
