Prasidh Krishna, Suryakumar Yadav script second ODI win for India; hosts lead 2-0 in three-match series against West Indies

Prasidh Krishna and Suryakumar Yadav on Wednesday scripted the second ODI win for India, giving the hosts a 2-0 lead in the three-match series against West Indies.

Earlier, batting first, India made 237-9 in 50 overs with Suryakumar Yadav scoring 64. KL Rahul was unlucky to have missed out on his half-century. Rahul was run out for 49.

Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith shared two wickets each for West Indies.

West Indies began their run chase on a positive note until they experienced a batting collapse. From being 32-0 in a little over seven overs, the tourists were soon reduced to 75-5. They were eventually bowled out for 193, losing the match by 44 runs.

Prasidh Krishna was the most effective bowler for India as he picked up four wickets. Shardul Thakur scalped two wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal Washington Sundar and Deepak Hooda shared one wicket each.

With today’s win, India have taken a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India had beaten West Indies by six wickets with 22 overs to spare in the first ODI.

The third and the final ODI of the series will be played in Ahmedabad on Friday.
