Former AAP leader and activist Yogendra Yadav was detained from Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in the early hours of Tuesday.
Just past midnight, Yogendra Yadav tweeted that he had come across reports of ‘midnight’ police crackdown against his ‘peaceful satyagrah’ at the Jantar Mantar.
He alleged the police had hit, pushed and dragged him while he had no idea what his crime was adding that he was later brought to Park Street police station.

Hearing the news, his senior colleague and Supreme Court lawyer too arrived at the Parliament Street police station.
Later he also tweeted about his ‘sacred hal (furrow)’ being broken by the police. According to the activist, who’s been protesting at Jantar Mantar to highlight the grievances of the farmers before the Modi government. Yadav had demanded that the Centre provide monthly financial benefit to those farmers who lost their crops in natural calamities and allot agricultural land to landless farmers.
