JNU students’ union leader Kanhaiya Kumar to meet Rahul Gandhi today

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar is expected to meet the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in the Delhi on Tuesday.

He will be accompanied by delegations from the JNUSU and the All India Students’ Federation (AISF).

Rahul, who was one of the first national leaders to extend his support to Kanhaiya after his arrest on sedition charges, had also visited the university campus.

But this is the first time the Congress VP is meeting Kanhaiya since the latter was released from the prison on bail.

Kanhaiya’s meeting with Rahul assumes significance in the wake of the raging controversy over another Congress leader Shashi Tharoor reportedly comparing the student leader with the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
