India on Monday ended their T20 World Cup campaign on winning as they beat Namibia by nine wickets.
Batting first, Namibia had made 132-8 in 20 overs. India chased the target by losing just one wicket of Rohit Sharma with 4.4 over to spare.
Sharma made 56 in 37 balls with his knock including seven boundaries and two huge sixes. KL Rahul remained unbeaten at 54 in 36 balls. His knock also included two sixes and four boundaries.
This was India’s third huge wins in a row but Virat Kohli’s side failed to secure a semi-final spot. Pakistan and New Zealand have progressed to the knock-out stage from India’s group with 10 and 8 points respectively. India could only register three victories in five matches.
This was Virat Kohli’s last match as Team India’s captain in T20 format of the game. This was also the last time Ravi Shastri was associated with the senior team as its Head Coach. He will be replaced by former India batsman Rahul Dravid.
