IAS officer Anurag Tiwari found dead near Lucknow guest house

An IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, Anurag Tiwari, was founded dead on a road side near Meerabai Guest House in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area on Wednesday morning.

A native of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, the officer had joined civil services in 2007.

Police have taken his body to a hospital for examination.

According to local correspondents, Tiwari was going through divorce and was under depression. Police are not suspecting any foul play as yet.

The 36-year-old officer was posted in the food and civil supplies ministry of Karnataka government.

According to police, his death may have occurred either as a result of a heart attack or sudden fall causing head injuries.

His friends have arrived at the Lucknow’s civil hospital, where the post-mortem will be conducted.
