The IAS Association has come under criticism after it failed to condemn the open threat by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to one civil servant in the state. This was after a video of Chouhan expressing his anger at the District Magistrate for not allowing his helicopter to land in the area went viral.

A visibly angry Chouhan, who was unseated after his party lost the assembly polls in 2018, threatened the Chhindwara district collector by asking may happen to him if he returned to power again.
Chouhan was heard as saying in the viral video, which was posted by news agency ANI, “O puppet collector! I will come back to power once again. What will happen to you then?”
#WATCH Shivraj Singh Chouhan: “Bengal mein Mamata didi, vo nahi utarne de rahi thi, Mamata didi ke baad Kamal Nath dada……Ye pithu collector sun le re, humare din bhi jaldi ayenge, tab tera kya hoga?”. His comments evoked angry reactions on social media with users tagging the IAS Association to condemn its silence. The body of civil servants, they added, is usually very vocal when one of their members is attacked by non-BJP politicians.

First @BJP4India mocked the martyrdom of 26/11 hero Hemant Karkare, now their ministers openly threatening & calling names to our hardworking @IASassociation collectors forcing them to comply else it will prove fatal to their career. This is utter nonsense#DeshKiBhoolKamalKaPhool https://t.co/DemNr6RQDc

Chauhan was scheduled to land in Umreth at around 5:30 pm but he was informed that he was allowed to land there only by 5 pm and not beyond that time.
