West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a stunning attack against Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, calling the latter a ‘corrupted man’ whose name featured in the Jain Hawala case.
She told reporters, “He’s a corrupted man, I am sorry to say. All corruption-oriented man. Why has the central government allowed a person like this? If the central government doesn’t know about the Jain Hawala case, then I ask them to take out the chargesheet. Did his name feature in that chargesheet or not?
The Bengal CM added, “I have already said. This governor’s name also featured in the Jain Hawala case. They have gone to the court, cleared it from the court. But again a PIL has been filed and the PIL is pending there.
“First you managed the court. Then there was another case in the court, which has not given its verdict.”
Dhankhar has been very critical of the Mamata Banerjee government on the law order issue. The ruling TMC has often accused the governor of acting as a BJP leader even though he held a constitutional post.

He had recently travelled to Delhi hold meetings with Home Minister Amit Shah, who he had reportedly briefed about the alleged post-poll violence in the eastern Indian state.
The war of words between the Trinamool leaders and Bengal governor intensified after the BJP failed to oust Banerjee from power in this year’s assembly polls. Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress won a historic landslide, dashing the saffron party’s hopes to form its first-ever government in the state.
