Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday asked the Centre’s Narendra Modi government to share the vaccine formula from the two manufacturers with other companies in the country to scale up its production. Speaking in a video, Kejriwal said his aim was to vaccinate the entire eligible population of Delhi in the next three months, but he had vaccines left only for a few days.

“My aim is that all Delhiites should get the jab in the next three days. But there’s a problem. We are left with a limited stock of vaccines,” he said adding that the shortage of vaccines had become a huge challenge for the country.

He said, “It’s, therefore, necessary that we ramp up the production of vaccines at a war footing… I want to give a suggestion today. The central government should take the formula from these two companies give it to all those companies, who can manufacture the vaccine safely.”

Kejriwal said that the two COVID vaccine manufacturers can be provided royalty for the use of their formula by other companies.

His comments came as Delhi recorded a reduction in positive cases but the fatalities continued to remain high.
