Police in Jammu Kashmir said on Saturday that they had found a bullet-riddled body of a 23-year-old man, Irfan Ahmad, reportedly working for the Army, from south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The deceased has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Mir, a resident of Sezan Keegam, a police official said. Mir was reportedly working with the Territorial Army and was on vacation.
He said the police recovered the body from an orchard area in Watmullah Keegam area of Shopian.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the ‘brutal killing’ of Mir. She tweeted, “Strongly condemn the brutal killing of Irfan Ahmed ,a brave Territorial Army soldier at Shopian.

Mir’s murder is the third such development in the valley this year. In May this year, a bullet ridden body of army officer Umar Faiyaz was found in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police sources said. The body of the Lieutenant rank officer was found with bullet wounds in Hermain area of the district, they said.
