Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has lately been in news for all sorts of wrong reasons. Bachchan, arguably one of the biggest names of Hindi film industry, had recently faced flak from fans and detractors alike for his silence on the gang-rape and murder of an eight-year-old child in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua.
He came for criticism primarily because Bachchan is the brand ambassador of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet campaign, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, which loosely translates as Save And Educate The Daughters scheme.
What compounded the matter for Bachchan was his public outburst at a journalist, who dared to remind him about his role as the ambassador of Beti Bachao scheme. When asked to comment on Kathua gang-rape and murder, Bachchan had told the journalist to not ‘bring up this issue.’ “Even discussing this issue feels disgusting, don’t bring up this issue. It is terrible to even talk about it,” Bachchan was quoted by ANI.
This prompted actor Pooja Bhatt to slam Bachchan for his remarks on the recent rape cases particularly the gang-rape and murder of an 8-year-old child in Kathua and the rape of an 18-year-old girl by a BJP MLA in Uttar Pradesh.
Bachchan also came for a lot of public ridicule lately after he was seen complaining to several actors for not responding to his mobile text messages.

The legendary actor on Saturday morning tweeted with a desperate plea asking Twitter to increase his followers. He had lashed out at the microblogging site in the past after he noticed a significant reduction in the number of his followers on Twitter. On Saturday, Bachchan wrote, ” Arre yaar Twitter ji .. yaar ab toh hamare numbers badha do .. kab se itna kuch dal rahe hain .. kuch aur karna ho, number badhane ke liye to bolo??????? .. TJKBM !!!”

This evoked sharp reactions from his followers and other social media users with most poking fun at the artist. Some even wondered if Bachchan’s latest plea was a result of his ‘jealousy’ of Shah Rukh Khan, who now has more followers than Bachchan on Twitter. While Bachchan has 34.3 million followers, Shah Rukh’s number of followers is 35.2 million.
Bachchan had complained of losing followers on Twitter earlier this year. His tweet posted in February had read, “TWITTER ..!!! you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! that’s a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea – and a lot more exciting. (sic)”

It’s normal for a user to periodically lose followers. That’s because the microblogging site regularly cleans up the fake followers, also known as bots. A recent survey in America had found that the 60% followers of Modi were fake.
Bachchan’s latest complaint against Twitter has left users in splits once again with both fans and critics posting quirky tweets with suggestions for the megastar. Here are some of the reactions;

Things to do to get to 40mil followers-
1 #Visit 50+ countries (to build followers there)
2 Go back to #Radio (ur original job offer) & talk to people on Sundays
3 Wish people #HappyBirthday etc on twitter first (who uses SMS today?)
4. Contact #ITCell if all fails? https://t.co/O3nNvM4oRD— Akash Banerjee (@akashbanerjee) May 5, 2018
