The Supreme Court on Monday expressed deep concerns over the incident where 34 minor girls in Bihar’s Supaul district were thrashed for allegedly resisting sexual advances.
According to reports, girls had confronted a group of boys, who often wrote obscene words on the walls of a playground in the vicinity of their school. Upon confrontation, the boys allegedly thrashed the girls, reported news agency ANI.
The incident happened when a group of youths forcibly entered the Kasturba Awasiya Balika Vidyalaya on Saturday evening with the intention of molesting the girls.

Supaul’s district magistrate Baidyanath Yadav had said, “Action will be taken against the accused and security arrangements will be made at the school,.”
Taking a potshot at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former deputy chief minister and RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav, tweeted, “70 girls of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School in #Supaul get brutally assaulted by 150 hoodlums in their hostel rooms! 36 get hospitalized! CM Kursi Kumar maintains cunning silence over the matter as he did on the repeated rapes of over 40 helpless inmates of Muzaffarpur BalikaGrih!”
Law and order has completely collapsed in Bihar under Nitish Kumar regime. The crime graph has shot up phenomenally with citizens complaining of unsafe environment. Rapes, murder with sophisticated weapons such as AK-47 and kidnapping have become common in the state.
