The Superintendent of Police or CSP Vikram Singh said that bodies were recovered from a roadside, near the PTC ground under the Gopalganj police station.

“The bodies were spotted by some rag-picking children, who alerted the locals, after which the police were informed,” he said.

A police team took the bag containing three bodies into its possession. Confirming further, the police said that the bag carried bodies of one infant boy and two girls, who appear to be just a couple of days old.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem and the birth records of the city hospitals are being searched thoroughly to ascertain the details of the newborns, reported PTI.

Singh said further investigations will be carried out in the matter.
