Madhya Pradesh IAS officer Niyaz Khan is facing disciplinary action for his tweets on the controversial film, Kashmir Files. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said that his government planned to serve Khan a show-cause notice.
Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, Mishra said, “This is indeed a serious issue. The way he has been tweeting and tagging newspapers. He has posted a similar tweet even today. I think he’s crossing all limits. He’s violating the lakshman rekha meant for civil servants.”
Mishra said that his BJP government would serve Khan a show-cause notice and demand an explanation.

Reacting to the controversy over Vivek Agnihotri’s film KKashmir Files, Khan had tweeted, “Kashmir File shows the pain of Brahmins. They should be allowed to live safely in Kashmir with all honour. The producer must also make a movie to show the killings of Large number of Muslims across several states. Muslims are not insects but human beings and citizens of country.”

Reacting to Khan’s tweet, Agnihotri wrote, “Sir Niyaz Khaan Sahab, Bhopal aa raha hoon 25th ko. Please give an appointment so we can meet and exchange ideas how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer.”
Kashmir Files has been a commercial success with several BJP governments making the film tax-free in their states. Madhya Pradesh and Assam governments have decided to give paid leave to government employees and police personnel to watch the film with their families.
Agnihotri has come under severe attack for using the plight of Kashmiri Pandits to spread hate in India.
