IAS topper Tina Dabi Khan has donned several hats since becoming a national sensation in 2016 after securing the all India number one ranking in the prestigious civil services exams. From performing a lungi dance with her IAS topper Athar Aamir Khan during her IAS training in Mussoorie to delivering her maiden TEDx talk in Delhi, Tina has displayed that she was a woman with several skills. She has also won many hearts as the SDM of Bhilwara with her style of working. The latest in the series is her role of a stern administrator in a bid to maintain law and order in her district.
This year, Muslims in India marked Muharram during the same time as Hindus celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. It seems both Tina and her husband, who’s also posted in the same district, decided to take upon themselves to ensure that there was no communal tension in the area under their charge. Both decided to hit the streets working alongside the law enforcing agencies.
Tina shared a series of photos on Instagram where she was seen standing with police personnel and what appeared to be a group of paramilitary forces. Dressed in a navy blue printed tunic with tights, Tina was seen standing with a protective helmet and a cane.

While sharing her photos, Tina wrote, “Glimpses from duty scenes for maintaining law and order in the area of my jurisdiction.”
While Tina did not elaborate on the occasion that had warranted such a security beef-up, a similar Instagram post by Athar made it abundantly clear that it was to do with Muslims marking Muharram in remembrance of the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) grandchildren along with other family members in the battle of Karbala.
Her dedication to work earned her instant plaudits from her fans on Instagram. One user wrote, “Love you mam your hard work you are such n inspiration for us.” Another commented, “U r d perfect example of, women empowerment.”
In the photo shared by Athar, he was seen walking with a group of policemen. His caption read, “Moharram Duty.” When a user asked him to explain what his ‘Moharram Duty’ entailed, the young IAS officer replied, “To ensure everything is smooth and peaceful and law and order is maintained.”
Both Tina and Athar had secured All India number one and two ranks in the UPSC exams in 2016. Both fell in love during their training period and got married last year before being posted in Bhilwara in Rajasthan as SDMs.
