Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar faced brutal trolling on Friday with critics wishing him to get a ‘spine’ as his birthday gift. Several former and current India cricketers including Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Prasad wished Tendulkar on his 48th birthday.
Wishing Tendulkar on his birthday, Yuvraj Singh wrote on Instagram, “Wishing the legendary master blaster @sachintendulkar a very Happy Birthday! Great to see you back and fully recovered! Lots of love and best wishes ❤️???? #HappyBirthdaySachin.”

Raina, for his part, wrote, “Many many happy returns of the day @sachintendulkar to an absolute legend of cricket. Your passion towards cricket made us love the game and gave a lifetime of memories! Wishing you a blessed & a healthy life always.”
However, Tendulkar was deluged with sarcastic messages from cricket fans on Twitter with the former India cricketer facing public ridicule for lacking spine. His critics poked fun at him for not criticising the government on the havoc created by the latest round of pandemic across India. Scores are dying everyday as hospitals complained of running out of oxygen.
Hey @swiggy can you deliver a spine to Sachin Tendulkar. It’s his happy birthday.#HappyBirthdaySachin

Happy birthday @sachin_rt
I pray that God blesses you with a spine that would make you stand up for the millions of people who out of nowhere turned you to into a demo god and in return you have done nothing but betrayed them by supporting a narcissist govt. #SachinTendulkar— The Drunk Monk (@raj4u2008in) April 24, 2021
Tendulkar was one of the few Indian celebrities who had wasted no time in parroting the government line when international icons such as Rihanna, Greta Thunberg and others had expressed their concerns over the coercive actions taken by the Indian authorities against protesting farmers.
