Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee’s father passes away aged 83

Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee’s father, RK Bajpayee, passed away on Sunday at a hospital in Delhi following a prolonged illness. He was 83.

The actor’s father was hospitalised in October this year. According to a report by news agency PTI, Manoj’s father’s condition was very critical for the last few days.

The actor was shooting in Kerala when the news of his father’s death came in. He immediately rushed to the national capital.

The last rites of Manoj’s father were performed in Delhi’s Nigam Bodh ghat on Sunday afternoon.

Lyricist Avinash Das took to Twitter to write in Hindi, “Manoj bhaiya ke pitaji nahi rahe. Unke sath guzare hue pal yaad arhe hai. Yeh tasveer maine Bhitiharwa Ashram mein li thi. Manoj Bajpayee is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood. Some of his notable films included Satya, Gangs of Wasseypur, Shool, Rajneeti and Aligarh among others. His latest OTT series, The Family Man, on Amazon Prime earned him plenty of plaudits from his fans.
