Rifat Jawaid has been a journalist with 23 years of experience 12 of which spent working with the BBC in United Kingdom. Before launching Janta Ka Reporter. Rifat had a brief stint with India Today working as Managing Editor-input for the group's all four TV channels namely Aaj Tak,
Headlines Today (now India Today), Dilli Aaj Tak and Tez. His last role in the BBC was of International Coordinating Editor, providing editorial leadership to the BBC Global News' 400 plus journalists in over a dozen bureaus in hostile regions such as Cairo, Tashkent, Moscow, Kabul, Nairobi, Tbilisi etc.
In his 'past life' he also worked with The Statesman and Rediff.com.
