Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday demanded the suspension of an election commission returning officer after it was reported that he had entered the strong room, where EVMs are kept.
Reacting to a tweet posted by an Aam Aadmi Party functionary, Kejriwal said, “This officer shud be immediately suspended and EC shud ensure safety of all EVMs.”

AAP has also decided to file an FIR with the local police in Ludhiana against the officer in question.
Janta Ka Reporter had reported how many voters in Punjab and Goa had expressed their fear of manipulation in EVMs as the gap between the polling and counting days this year has been kept for over a month by the Election Commission.
During Delhi assembly polls, Kejriwal’s volunteers had physically guarded the building, where EVM machines were kept after the polls. But, this time the gap between the polling day and the day the votes will be counted in Punjab and Goa is more than a month. Several AAP functionaries say that this is humanly not possible to guard the building for such a prolonged period.
However, soon after Janta Ka Reporter’s editor-in-chief, Rifat Jawaid’s Facebook Live (Watch below), the Kejriwal-led party decided to deploy dozens of volunteers outside strongrooms in Punjab.
