Four Israeli armed forces personnel are reported to have been killed after a truck rammed into a group of soldiers. Several other soldiers are believed to have been injured.
A police spokesperson said on Israeli radio, “It is a terrorist attack, a ramming attack.”
The radio also reported that several bodies were “strewn on the street.”
The attack, according to BBC, had taken place on a popular promenade overlooking the walled Old City of Jerusalem.
The latest attack comes weeks after the United Nation’s Security Council passed a unanimous resolution condemning Israeli settlement by rendering their rightful Palestinian owners homeless.
Israel’s traditional ally, the USA, had not vetoed the anti-Israeli resolution for the first time.
