Sri Lanka on Thursday inflicted a humiliating defeat on England, paving the way for an early exit for the defending champions from the cricket World Cup.
After winning the toss, skipper Jos Buttler decided to bat first. But once again, England batters crumbled before the opposition before being eventually bowled out for just 156 in 33.2 overs.
Sri Lanka achieved the target by losing just two wickets in 25.5 overs. Pathum Nissanka remained unbeaten at 77 while Sadeera Samarawickrama was not out at 65.
England have now lost four out of their five matches and are placed at the bottom of the 10-team table. Top four teams with most points will qualify for the semi-finals.
