Veteran Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor has come out in full defence of his son Siddhant, who was arrested by the Karnataka Police after a raid at a drug party in Bengaluru.

69-year-old actor told ETimes, “I can only say one thing- it’s not possible.”

Earlier Kapoor had said that he was not aware of anything since he had just woken up from his sleep. “I am not aware of anything. I have just gotten up from my sleep and my phone has started ringing continuously. He hasn’t been arrested but detained by the cops for consumption (of drugs). I don’t think there was any possession. I have as much information as it is coming out in the news and I am really troubled by this news,” News18 India had quoted him as saying.

The police had raided the city’s Park Hotel and took samples of around 35 guests. Five of them including Siddhant reportedly tested positive.

Siddhant, himself an actor and assistant director, was at the party as the DJ.

Police Officer Bheemashankar S Guled was quoted by NDTV as saying, “A total of five persons have been arrested including Siddhanth Kapoor after they tested positive for consuming drugs. They have all been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.”

The Police said that they found two packets of drugs lying in the dustbin, adding that one packet contained seven tablets.

Siddhant, brother of Shraddha, has acted in films such as Shootout At Wadala, Haseena Parkar and Jazbaa.

In 2020, Shraddha was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau when the top government agency summoned several Bollywood stars such as Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan.

Shraddha is one of the most followed Bollywood actors with 73 millions followers on Instagram.
