Shaheen Afridi’s on-field ‘standoff’ with Australia’s David Warner has set the internet on fire after the Pakistan Cricket Board shared the hilarious video on Twitter. While Afridi’s funny encounter with Warner during the third Test in Lahore left teammates in splits, netizens were quick to declare both the players as the ‘cutest couple’ in cricket.
The encounter between Afridi and Warner took place in the second innings of Australia after the visitors took a first-innings lead of 123. Afridi was bowling his third over when he decided to test Warner with a short-pitch delivery. Warner defended the ball well, prompting the Pakistani fast bowler to charge towards the Aussie batsman. Warned too reciprocated with a smile on his face.
Soon both the players were seen smiling at each other. The incident left Warner’s teammates in splits. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins and Marnus Labuschagne were seen laughing at the hilarious on-field battle between Afridi and Warner.
The video evoked an equally hilarious reaction from Twitter users when the PCB shared the video on the microblogging site.
