Congratulations are pouring in for New Zealand spin bowler Ajaz Patel after he became only the third bowler to pick up all 10 wickets in an innings in a Test match. Patel achieved the feat during the second Test match against India in Mumbai. India were bowled out for 325 in their first innings.
Patel, who had claimed four wickets at the end of the first day’s play, went on to dismiss the remaining six Indian batsmen on the second to join the exclusive club of those having taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings.
Jim Laker of England was the first bowler to achieve this feat when he dismissed all 10 Aussie batsmen in 1956. India’s Anil Kumble became only the second bowler to pick up all 10 wickets in 1999 in Delhi against Pakistan.
Incredible achievement as Ajaz Patel picks up all 10 wickets in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test.

Kumble also took to Twitter to write, “Welcome to the club #AjazPatel #Perfect10 Well bowled! A special effort to achieve it on Day1 & 2 of a test match.”
Patel bowled 47.5 overs in total, with none of New Zealand’s other bowlers bowling even half of those overs.
Mayank Agarwal was the top scorer with an impressive knock of 150. Agarwal, who was almost likely to be dropped after failing to shine with the bat in the Kanpur Test, appears to have cemented his position in the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
33-year-old Patel was born in Mumbai, the venue of the second Test, before his parents migrated to New Zealand.
