In a sensational twist in the Aryan Khan case, Sam D’Souza has approached the Bombay High Court confirming the NCB witness Prabhakar Sail’s claims on extortion involving Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani. D’Sourza, according to Livelaw, has confirmed that he indeed took Rs 50 lakh from Dadlani at the behest of KP Gosavi to bail Aryan Khan out of the trouble.

However, he decided to return the money after learning that Gosavi was a fraud.

D’Souza said, “After coming to know that Kiran Gosavi was a fraud, the applicant’s only motive was to recover the money and save his image…Therefore, he connected Sunil Patil (middle man) and Kiran Gosavi and recovered the money and return the said money back to Pooja Dadlani, through her husband.”

According to D’Souza, Gosavi told him that Aryan Khan did not possess drug when he was arrested. D’Souza said that he feared arrest from the Special Investigation Team set up by the Maharashtra government.

“Mr Gosavi releaved that Aryan Khan had no drugs in his possession till that time and he is innocent and Kiran Gosavi convinced me he could help Khan get some relief and asked me to connect with Pooja Dadlani,” the Livelaw website quoted D’Souza as saying.

Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has refused to entertain the application seeking anticipatory bail filed by D’Souza.

Sail, who worked as Gosavi’s personal bodyguard, had said in his affidavit that he heard Gosavi speak with one Sam D’Souza about one Rs. 18 crore deal of which Rs. 8 crore was meant to be paid to NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. According to Sail’s affidavit, he was present in the car when Gosavi spoke to D’Souza.

Sail alleged that Gosavi held a meeting with D’Souza and Shah Rukh Khan’s manager, Pooja Dadlani in a car the same evening. The NCB witness added that he received the cash from Gosavi and personally delivered it to D’Souza.

NCB witness Prabhakar Sail had alleged in a five-page affidavit that Gosavi had spoken about extorting Rs. 25 crores from the arrest of Aryan Khan and the need to pay Rs. 8 crore to Wankhede. He had also alleged that Gosavi had also made him sign blank pages.

Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik had sensationally alleged that Wankhede was illegally tapping the phones of Bollywood actors, politicians and businessmen in Mumbai with the help of two private people.

Aryan Khan was arrested in the drug case and had to spend several weeks in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail until the Bombay High Court granted him bail.

Goswami had gone absconding until the Maharashtra Police arrested him from Pune.
