Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets in the eliminator match of the IPl 2021. The team from Kolkata will now face Delhi Capitals in ‘Qualifier 2’ on Wednesday seeking to book a place in this year’s IPL final.
Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered from a batting collapse as they were restricted to 138-7 in 20 overs. Sunil Narine was the tormentor-in-chief for the side led by Virat Kohli as the West Indian slow-arm bowler finished with an impressive spell of 4-21 in four overs.
The highlight of the Bangalore innings was their inability to score a single six in the face of lethal bowling by KKR bowlers.
Varun Chakaravarthy, who could not get any wickets, was equally lethal with his spin bowling as he conceded just 20 runs in his quota of four overs. Lockie Ferguson picked up two wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders never looked in trouble in their run-chase as their batsmen continued to score freely.
Narine was also impressive with the bat, scoring 15-ball 26 runs. Shubman Gill was the top scorer for the KKR, scoring 29 runs off 19 balls.
Chennai Super Kings have already secured a place in the final by beating Delhi Capitals in the ‘Qualifier 1.’ The final will be played on 15 October.
