It’s raining medals in Tokyo Paralympics for India as Yogesh Kathuniya, Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh Gurjar make country proud

Monday was another glorious day at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo when India bagged four medals with Avni Lekhera, Yogesh Kathuniya, Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh Gurjar winning one Gold, two Silver and one Bronze for India.

Avni created history by winning India’s first-ever Gold at the Paralympic Games in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing (SH1) event with a score of 249.6. Yogesh Kathuniya bagged the Silver medal in Men’s Discus Throw F56 with a splendid 44.38m throw, while Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh Gurjar won Silver and Bronze respectively in Men’s Javelin Throw F46 event.

With four medals coming in a single day, India have now won seven medals altogether at the ongoing Paralympic Games.

As expected, elated fans took to social media to congratulate the Paralympic athletes on their historic achievements.
