The Congress on Saturday claimed that Twitter had suspended the account of its leader Rahul Gandhi. The party took to Twitter to inform that Gandhi would be using other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram until his account was restored.
The party tweeted, “Shri @RahulGandhi’s Twitter account has been temporarily suspended & due process is being followed for its restoration. Until then, he will stay connected with you all through his other SM platforms & continue to raise his voice for our people & fight for their cause. Jai Hind!”

Contrary to the Congress’ claims, Gandhi’s Twitter account can be viewed and it seems he has been locked out of his account. It’s, however, not clear what may have prompted the social media giant to lock Gandhi’s account.
The Congress later clarified that Gandhi had been locked out of his account. “The account has been temporarily locked, “ it tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi was recently in the news after he tweeted videos of his meeting with the parents of the 9-year-old Dalit girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered by a Hindu priest at a crematorium in Delhi. The BJP had demanded action against him for revealing the identity of the parents of the Dalit girl. The controversial tweet has now disappeared from the Congress leader’s timeline. The same video continues to be available on Instagram.
