Italy on Tuesday defeated Spain on penalties to book their place in Euro 2020 final, where they will meet either England or Denmark.

Italy took the lead in the 60th minute after Federico Chiesa netted home. However, their lead was short-lived as Spain scored an equaliser 20 minutes later after Alvaro Morata made no mistake in converting what was a wonderful ball from Dani Olmo.

The match went into extra time after the score remained 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes of the game. Both teams continued to attack in extra time but without any luck.

With the score remaining 1-1 even after extra time, the match was decided on penalties. It was Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, whose goal took Italy to the final after Morata sensationally failed to net home. Italian keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma dived the right way to save Morata’s lame shot.

This was the fourth consecutive Euros where Italy and Spain had locked horns in a knockout tie.

Italy were unbeaten in 32 games, while Spain had won only one game in 90 minutes at the ongoing Euro 2020.

will play England or Denmark in final at Wembley on Sunday.
