Police in Mumbai say that at least 11 people lost their lives after a residential building collapsed on another structure in the Malad area on Wednesday night.
At least seven people are reported to have sustained injuries.
“It’s an unfortunate incident. It was a G+2 building that fell on another building. 18 people have been rescued, of whom 11 died. Police will carry out a proper investigation and take further action,” Dilip Sawant, Additional CP, was quoted by news agency ANI.

According to the BMC, the second and third floors of the three-storey building collapsed on the adjacent one-storey hut, leaving 11 people dead.
