Bengaluru civic body, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike, has ordered an ‘inquiry’ after some of its officials were caught brutally assaulting innocent citizens for refusing to undergo coronavirus test in a viral video.
In the viral video, a group of criminals masquerading as civic body officials could be seen forcing innocent citizens to take RT-PCR test. They were seen brutally assaulting at least two boys after they refused to agree for the test, which is not mandatory by law.
This is in Nagarathpet in Bengaluru. Innocent citizens brutally assaulted, humiliated by government officials for refusing to go for COVID test. Utterly shameful. Shouldn’t we demand action against these criminals same way we did against Tripura and Chhattisgarh DMs? pic.twitter.com/mpEGZo1uic

BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said that he had ordered a mere inquiry into the shameful affair. He wrote, “We regret the incident at Nagarathpet testing booth. There is no question of forceful testing. We condemn any physical altercation that has happened. Enquiry would be conducted to find out what led to this, who is responsible, and also to prevent any such recurrence.”

Not too long ago, the Chattisgarh government was forced to act against one of its IAS officers after Ranbir Sharma was caught on camera assaulting a boy for violating the lockdown rule.
