Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday launched a blistering attack against Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh by daring him to prove his allegations on meeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

A visibly agitated Sidhu tweeted a video of his press conference on Twitter as he wrote, “Prove one meeting that I have had with another Party’s leader ?! I have never asked anyone for any post till date. All I seek is Punjab’s prosperity !! Was invited & offered Cabinet berths many times but I did not accept Now, Our Esteemed High Command has intervened, Will wait…”

In another tweet, Sidhu shared a video of himself with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He wrote, “In 2019, I began & ended my Election Campaign in Punjab seeking – Justice for Sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji & punishing the culprits & the ONE shielding them… Now, Our MLAs & Party Workers must go to Delhi & speak the Truth of Punjab to our High Command, as I regularly do!”
Sidhu, who had won the last assembly elections as a Congress candidate, was later made the tourism minister in the Amarinder Singh government. He had to later resign following his differences with Singh after the former India cricketer accepted Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s invitation to travel to be present at his swearing-in ceremony.
Singh had recently told a Punjabi TV channel that Sidhu was an opportunist, who met Kejriwal 3-4 times in the recent past, adding that he was set to join the AAP. Singh had said that Sidhu was preparing to contest against him from Patiala as an AAP candidate.
Punjab goes to the polls in February next year.
