Rajeev Chandrasekhar carries many identities. Aside from being a media baron in the south, he’s also BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP. More recently, he helped Arnab Goswami establish Republic TV in 2017. Even though he sold most of his shares recently, his Asianet still holds a minority stakes in Republic TV.
The man is back in the news for posting a distasteful tweet on the late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi. This was after Congress President Rahul Gandhi remembered his father on the microbloging site paying tribute to him on his death anniversary. Gandhi wrote, “My father was gentle, loving, kind & affectionate. He taught me to love & respect all beings. To never hate. To forgive. I miss him. On his death anniversary, I remember my father with love & gratitude.”

Responding to Gandhi’s tweet, Chandrasekhar wrote, “I just want to know one thing – who “taught” u this pathological obsessive lying skills?.”

Soon Chandrasekhar began to face incessant trolling as many found his tweet in poor taste. Here are some examples.
Did your father teach you how to cheat father-in-laws, jackass?

Why did you steal your In-laws money!?

Money does not buy class. Such a cheap and tasteless jibe at a son on his father’s death anniversary only heartless people can make. #Rajiv_Gandhi_Amar_Rahe https://t.co/gX21FVSqlS

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE terrorists on 21 May 1991 in Tamil Nadu.
