A press conference by the Congress on Wednesday faced an extraordinary disruption when a man holding a tricolour emerged from nowhere to shout that calling Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ajay Singh Bisht was an insult to the Indian culture.
In the video, shared by news agency ANI, a man is seen shouting while standing in front of the Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera while shouting, “Yogi Adityanath ko Ajay Bisht kehna, ye Bharatiya sanskriti ka apmaan hai. Vande Mataram, Bharat mata ki jai. (It’s an insult to the Indian culture to call Yogi Adityanath Ajay Singh Bisht. Vande Mataram, Bharat mata ki jai).”

The Congress has often addressed the UP chief minister as his real name Ajay Singh Bisht. This has often irked BJP supporters, who felt that this amounted to insulting a Hindu monk.
Adityanath, who was appointed as the state’s chief minister in March 2017, has also been an MP for several terms. He had also infamously founded a Hindi militant organisation Hindu Yuva Vahini before becoming the chief minister.
