Simmba’s collection on the first day of its release was the biggest first day earning for Ranveer Singh since all his previous films had performed less spectacularly on the day of their release. Sara Ali Khan’s presence in the film may been the reason for such good fortune.
Padmaavat, which was Ranveer’s last film, had earned Rs 19 crore on its release day despite the film having Deepika Padukone (Ranveer’s wife now) and Shahid Kapoor. Gunday had only managed to earn Rs 16 crore. Goliyon Ki Raas leela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani too had collected only Rs 16 and Rs 12.18 crore respectively despite the films having Deepika in both of them.
