Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday declared the election of Dhar BJP MLA Nina Verma as null and void over incomplete nomination papers.

Advocate Suresh Chandra Bhandari had filed a plea challenging her election. The High Court has also given Verma a time of 45-days to appeal in the Supreme Court, reported ANI.

The judge, Alok Verma, who pronounced the verdict is retiring within a week. This is the second time Verma’s election has been declared null and void. In 2012, the court had disqualified her after her Congress rival Balmukund Gautam had lodged a complaint against her.

Madhya Pradesh currently has a BJP government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
