Irfan Pathan posts this photo with wife but issues clarification in advance

India all-rounder Irfan Pathan on Tuesday tweeted a photo with his wife but exercised care by writing a caveat fearing a potential backlash from the fundamentalist Muslims.

Pathan’s tweet said, “Kuch to log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna but always #love #travel (People will say something as commenting on on others is their pastime.”

Pathan’s fears emanated from the trolling of the Indian fast bowler, Mohammad Shami, who was condemned by fundamentalists for posting an ‘inappropriate’ photo with his wife.

Pathan had posted the photo first on Facebook, where he faced incessant trolling. That explained his caveat on Twitter when he posted the same photo on the microblogging site.

One user on Facebook advised him to avoid ‘nail polish’ for his wife as it was ‘not good’ according to Islam.

Other user Akshay Kalyan said that the ‘the way your wife is dressed is shameful.’

Md Jahangir Alam wrote that Pathan being a ‘wide’ man should not have posted his wife’s photo on social media.

Whilst some Msulim users targeted Pathan too but an overwhelming majority of them came to his support.
