Molestation victim produces more audio clips against St. Stephen’s Professor, DCW chief writes to Smriti Irani

The victim of St. Stephen’s molestation case on Wednesday produced more audio clips in defence of her claims against her professor, Satish Kumar, the accused in this case.

The girl, a research scholar in St. Stephen’s College met the DCW chief Swati Maliwal with the accused professor on Wednesday.

The accused St. Stephen’s Professor Satish Kumar said that allegations were made against him because the victim was not carrying out her research properly.

The professor, when asked to give the same statement through an affidavit, he request for more time adding that he will bring it the next time.

Meanwhile, Maliwal has also written to the Union HRD Minister, Smriti Irani, to provide her with any communication she may have had with the DU regarding the victim’s ability to complete her unfinished research without any hindrance.

There were reports that Irani had written to the DU directing it to ensure the ‘unhindered completion’ of the victim’s PhD.

DCW has asked Delhi University and other agencies to submit their report by next week. DCW also suggested the victim to file a complaint in the internal complaint committee of the University.

Only after all the evidences are produced, the DCW said, it will meet the victim again next week.

The victim had alleged that she had been molested by Kumar in the college’s Chemistry department. The accused, who was supervising her PhD work, had also allegedly threatened to pour sulfuric acid on her.
